Recently, our company completed two batches of 8 main engine cylinder heads refurbishment projects for Mxx Lxx wheels. This ship was docked and repaired at Zhoushan Huafeng Shipyard. The main engine model is Wartsila10RTA96C-B, which is a large container liner. The repair projects in the factory are often short in duration, and the shipowner's maintenance plan is to refurbish the cylinder heads of four main engines on board. This type of large cylinder diameter model is also our company's first repair. Before receiving the order, our company carefully planned the production plan, and comprehensively considered and arranged it from various aspects such as transportation connection, process development, production organization, and lifting safety. Such models of Wärtsilä and MAN B&W98ME are currently the largest cylinder bore engines, each with a dead weight of 7 tons and an outer diameter of 2000 mm. After receiving the order, our company strictly controls the pre inspection, determines various key data, clarifies the repair scope, conducts research and judgment on material characteristics, grasps quality key points in the process, and fully promotes production progress, ultimately achieving successful delivery within the scheduled time. Four cylinder heads, including one main engine piston, were reinstalled by the shipyard and the shipowner's maintenance department was very satisfied with our company's refurbishment quality and production cycle. After comprehensively evaluating the progress of the shipping schedule, we made a decisive arrangement to lift the cylinders and handed them over to our company for the second batch of four main engine cylinder heads four days later. Our company has summarized the production experience of the first batch and continuously optimized the plan. Although the repair projects and engineering quantities have increased, the final delivery date is still ahead of schedule. Three days after the reinstallation of the second batch of four cylinder heads, the ship completed the main engine test run and successfully left the factory, starting a new intercontinental voyage.
We completed 2 batches totally 8pcs ME cylinder cover reconditioning for MV Mxx Lxxx which was dry-docking in Zhoushan Huafeng shipyard, her ME is Wartsila10RTA96C-B， the biggest main engine of Wartsila company. The similar ME is MAN B&W 98ME. The cylinder cover net weight is 7 Tons and the max diameter is 2000mm. The facilities of our company just meet the big engine parts, the 10 Tons Lifter in workshop, the 3000 mm plat for Sub-arc welding, the cyclotron diameter 4000mm digital lathe, etc. We meet the challenge and delivered the qualified 4pcs in quoted time. The owner superintendent is highly satisfied with the quality and delivery. He decided to open the other 4 cylinders and move 4 pcs more cylinder covers for reconditioning as the first four assembled safely.
