What is a diesel generator set?

The diesel generator set is a type of AC power supply equipment of the self-contained power station, which is a small independent power generation equipment. It uses the internal combustion engine as the power to drive the synchronous alternator to generate electricity.
Modern diesel generator set consists of diesel engine, three-phase AC brushless synchronous generator, control box (panel), radiator tank, coupling, fuel tank, muffler, public base and other components to form a rigid whole. The axial direction of the flywheel housing of the diesel engine and the front end cover of the generator is directly connected by shoulder positioning, and the cylindrical elastic coupling is used to directly drive the rotation of the generator by the flywheel. The connection mode is fixed together by screws, so that the two are connected into a steel body, which ensures that the concentricity of the crankshaft of the diesel engine and the rotor of the generator is within the specified range.
The diesel generator set is composed of an internal combustion engine and a synchronous generator. The high power of the internal combustion engine is limited by the mechanical load and thermal load of the parts and components, and is called the rated power. The rated power of the AC synchronous generator refers to the rated power output during long-term continuous operation at the rated speed. Generally, the matching ratio is between the rated power output by the diesel engine and the rated power output by the synchronous alternator.
