Development Status and Trend of Marine Diesel Engine Industry Technology
Time of issue:
2022-10-18
The development of marine diesel engines is relatively stable on the whole. In the past few years, it has mainly focused on improving the reliability of diesel engines. This is because of the development of supercharging technology and the rapid enhancement of diesel engines. Especially after the oil crisis, it is reflected in the strong pursuit of reducing fuel consumption and the economy of burning inferior fuel oil. The environmental policies of various countries have increasingly strict restrictions on diesel engine emissions, while NOx The increase of harmful emissions such as SO2 is just a by-product of high strength and burning low-quality fuel oil, and the content of these harmful emission gas components is more serious in marine diesel engines than in automobile diesel engines. All diesel engine manufacturers are committed to the following new diesel engines.
(1) Reliability in continuous service.
(2) Highly enhanced. That is, greatly increase the combustion pressure and fuel injection pressure.
(3) Exhaust emissions meet increasingly stringent emission regulations. In 1997, the ship began to implement the emission limit set by IMO. Diesel engine manufacturers adopted condition control or exhaust gas post-treatment, or even redesigned to meet regulatory requirements.
(4) Good overall economy. Not only the fuel consumption rate and the use of inferior fuel, but also the price, operating cost, labor saving, less maintenance, and promotion efficiency.
(5) The overall structure tends to be the same. Cylinder arrangement is mainly in line and V-shaped, which is not only a technical goal, but also a requirement of economic goals.
(6) Standardized interfaces. Try to meet the requirements of users and adapt to the application of different supporting auxiliary devices and monitoring systems.
High power low-speed diesel engines are widely used in bulk carriers, oil tankers, container ships and other large ocean going ships.
As ships are becoming larger, larger and more automated, and the requirements for the economy and reliability of the main engine of ships are increasing, the technical development of high-power two-stroke low-speed diesel engines presents a trend of overall optimization, which is specifically shown in the following aspects:
(1) The power of single machine and single cylinder is increasing, and the single machine can reach 110000 horsepower.
(2) To further reduce the fuel consumption rate, the fuel consumption rate of the two-stroke low-speed diesel engine has been reduced to 164g/kW · h.
(3) The average pressure has reached 1190-1195MPa, and the burst pressure is 1510-1515MPa.
(4) A new type of supercharger with high pressure ratio, such as the 4P supercharger developed by ABB, has a pressure ratio of up to 5 ∶ 1.
(5) The electronic governor system, electronic fuel injection system, high-pressure common rail fuel injection system and intelligent electronic control system are adopted to further improve the reliability of low-speed diesel engines, improve the low load performance, reduce fuel consumption, control NOx emissions, and protect the control.
