The fuel valve seating face in the pocket reaches the maximum limit due to long-term running and must be refurbished to original size. Even though there is only one spare cylinder head on board, , shipowner still confirmed to repair it in Chinese ports. Because there are multiple ports to call in China in this voyage. Subsequently, the further inspection were carried on and the reconditioning scope was quickly clarified. After communication with the shipowner, it can only be dismantled by destroy. But there is an uncertainty if the spare part is available on board. It means the cylinder cover would not be used properly if the sleeve is not available on ship. So DMTech organized technicians to discuss and decided to fabricate a new sleeve.
